Takanawa to Gotanda - Running Circuit - Tokyo - Japan

Ready, set, go! It’s a chilly autumn morning,
just a few minutes past 06:00AM

But nothing will deter me from running!

When I am nearly reaching the Tokyo American Club,
I see a fellow runner.

The street of the Hara Contemporary Museum of Art

I am finally reaching the river

My running circuit is along the this river

Buildings all over, this is Tokyo no doubt!

Reaching the first bridge!

Every day at 6:30AM sharp, this group of ladies practices Tai-Chi here,
they even have a radio playing music.

Just a few meters and I cross the bridge to return;

A view of Gotanda Station

And now, on the other side of the river on my way back

06:40AM

And after this hill I am almost at home! 5.2KM…

Popular Dish “Shogayaki”- Tokyo - Japan

In Japan Ginger Pork is called “Shogayaki” that means to grill with ginger.
The typical way to make “Shogayaki” is to marinate the pork in the spices before cooking. It is a common dish here and I have tried quite a few versions. Normally the menu is also served with rice, miso soup and pickles all delicious!

The Umbrella Etiquette - Tokyo - Japan

In Japan it’s common that shops, cafes or department stores provide plastic covers for wet umbrellas. It is considered rude to enter these places with a dripping umbrella without one. There are also umbrella lockers in case you don’t want to carry it around.

Hara Museum of Contemporary Art - Tokyo - Japan

The autumn is slowly taking over Tokyo. The days are getting darker at around 17.30; the temperatures are getting lower, so a visit to a museum is an excellent option.
The Hara Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo Shinagawa, has very interesting installations. It isn’t very big but it has a garden with Art pieces and a highly appreciated tranquil atmosphere.
The “Stroll of a Dreamer”, the “Incomplete Cube” by Sol LeWitt, and “L’espace Zero” by Jean-Pierre Raynaud were some of the pieces that made a lasting impression.
